Girish Kohli’s direction is excellent. His narration is such that the absence of multiple characters on the screen is simply not felt. On the whole, Crazxy is definitely a well-made film but getting the audience in to the cinemas without any face value, that too, for a film in which there’s just one person on the screen, is a challenge which may be difficult to overcome.

A taut and tense thriller, Crazxy, produced by and starring Sohum Shah, whose choices as an actor have never been conventional, upends genre norms to deliver a 93-minute adrenaline rush that until it ends up in a small puddle of avoidable mush is absolutely riveting fare. Coming to think of it, even the somewhat mawkish conclusion is not wholly out of place in a drama that blends the emotional with the visceral. Crazxy isn’t an average crowd-pleaser. It dares to be different and sticks to its guns. That is where the appeal of the film lies.

Beyond keeping you engaged throughout the film, he also looks strikingly good on screen. The makers earn additional brownie points for their choice of music, seamlessly blending old classics like Kallu Mama with Kishore Kumar’s Abhimanyu Chakravyuh Mein Fas Gaya Hai to enhance the drama and mood of the film. Given how selective audiences have become about watching films in theatres, Crazxy may struggle to draw crowds. However, if you can look past its slightly melodramatic ending, it makes for a quick and engaging watch.

Sanyukta Kaza and Rythem Lath’s razor-sharp editing, coupled with gripping direction, are further elevated by Vishal Bhardwaj’s evocative soundtrack. With its Tarantinoesque blend of tension, style, raw intensity, and a homage to Amitabh Bachchan, Crazxy pushes boundaries and is a must-watch for its bold storytelling and character study. You won’t forget the cinematic experience long after the credits roll.

Talking about the performance, it’s Sohum Shah’s show all the way and the actor has once again left us in awe of not only his acting mettle but also of picking up the unique and authentic storyline. On the whole, Crazxy is easily one of the best Bollywood thrillers in recent times and must be watched on the big screen to enjoy the engrossing experience.
